Been Thinking About Building My Own Boat

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Now that I am retired, I have a lot more free time on my hands than I expected. I have been doing a few things around the house that I had been putting off but I got most of those things done quickly. Now, I am looking for some Sailboat Plans so that I can build my own boat. I have always wanted to have a boat. I think that building one would keep me busy and then sailing around would be a great way for me to spend my retirement days as well. It would also be a nice thing to pass down to my children.

Trying to Find the Right Gift

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

When I was talking to my mom on the phone the other day, I told her that I wanted to get Dad something really nice for his birthday, but I couldn’t think of anything at all.  She said that she had noticed him looking at this really nice cigar cutter when they were in the shop a few days ago, so that would be a good gift.  I told her that she would have to pick it up for me, and then I could just pay her back the money.  I just wanted to get him something that he would really enjoy.

A Present for a Super Hero Lover

Monday, January 25th, 2010

My husband and my daughters are all really into the super heroes, so I was thinking that as a present I might get him some Super Hero cufflinks. I could let the girls pick out the ones that they wanted to get him for his birthday. Does anyone know where they sell this sort of thing? I have heard that they are available, I just don’t know where. Rather than dragging the girls all over looking for them I might see if I can find a good website that has them for a reasonable price. I just hope the quality is decent.

Life Insurance: Take Care of Yourself

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Most of us know the physical benefits of taking care of our bodies: better health, a possible longer life, and an overall sense of well-being. What some don’t know, however, are the fiscal advantages of taking the extra step(s) to maintain their general health. Lower rates on various life insurance policies are an excellent example. In general, individuals who have better health scores in various areas such as lower blood pressure, better all-around cholesterol levels, and a healthier body mass index (BMI) are more apt to receive lower quotes and rates on their life policies. A Little Bit of History

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

The first ever princess cut was done in the early 1960’s. It has a square sparkling cut that highlights the brilliance of the diamond.  It generally had seventy six surfaces and was designed to achieve as many surface areas reflected by light from a square cut as possible.  The additional surfaces and lines were designed to make sure that even if the cut is square, it will still have the glitter of the round cut, if not more.  Even though it is a little out of tradition, a princess cut diamond engagement ring is presently becoming a trend to couples who are about to tie the knot.
